10 days to go

Well, there are 10 days until the surgery date. 6 until my pre-op visit with the doctor. I did a weight check yesterday morning using the Wii Fit board, then did one this morning, wearing the same pajamas I wore yesterday, I had gone UP 0.7 pounds!! WTH?? I am following the 2 week diet to a tee, what am I doing wrong?
Also, I am having really bad bouts of diarrhea after I consume anything, even water! I'm not sure if its a bug, or just the diet change.
I hope that the weight decides to take a turn in the RIGHT direction and start going DOWN before I see the doc on Thursday, they told me last time I was there to NOT gain weight, not sure what will happen if I have.

So I didn't blog yesterday.

Yesterday was an odd day.
Started out GREAT! When I got off work, I went and picked up my granddaughter thats in town for a few days. She is 5 and moved to Tennessee back in April. Hubby knew she was coming over, but thought we were going to get her after I got home, hahaha, I surprised him! The best reaction was from my 4 year old granddaughter. When A and I walked in the house, hubby was sitting on the couch and appeared a little surprised. He then called the other granddaughters name, (she was in the bedroom playing). She walked out of the bedroom, stopped at the hallway for a second, when I guess reality smacked her and she realized that it wasn't a dream. She literally screamed A's name and RAN to her and gave her the biggest hug!! I wish I had time to get my video recorder on my phone ready, it was priceless.
So, we took her to town, so she could see her dad, who was at work, and somehow just gets left out of the rotation when she comes to visit. He knew she was in town, but didn't know we had her. Unfortunately he couldn't visit with her for long as they were having computer troubles at work and he was dealing with that. But he did get to see her and she him.
After that, we went to Walmart because hubby just HAS to have the keurig or at least the Mr. Coffee version of it. Well, we found what he wanted, and as we were leaving, the girls said they were hungry. Soo, burger king was right there. I have been on protein shakes and water since Monday, but a whopper sounded sooooooo good. So I had one! Only ate a few fries though. But OMG, I really shouldn't have done that. I felt so sick afterwards. Guess I won't do that again.
So, we made another stop where another of my sons worked so he could see her. They were extremely busy at his workplace, so he basically had the same visit with her as his brother had. Which SUCKS!!!!!!
Anyway, we had to give her up at 5, seems like when she is out here visiting, everyone but us gets to keep her for the night. It's odd because when she lived here, she practically LIVED here. She spent almost every day here from the time she was 2 weeks old. Not sure what to make of it. Especially since she didn't want to leave.

Day 2

Well, today is day 2 of the pre op stuff. Hasn't been too terribly bad yet, other than the tremendous headache I woke up with and can't seem to shake. I have been warned that my body will start to go through withdrawals from sugar, god help the people around me!!! I am lucky I have a supportive family and have met several supportive people through the forums I am subscribed to. One person in particular can relate to everything I am experiencing, because she is going through them almost the exact same time as I am. She is also scheduled for her surgery the same day as me, so we can travel this journey together. I am lucky that I have someone I can text and chat with during these times, I am glad I "met" you Jessica!
Being at work today makes the day seem to go by a little easier also. As a shift, we tend to bring our own meals for mealtimes, so that's easy enough. I just premade my protein shakes, and packed them into my cooler along with the blender I got from the hubby and when they eat, I have a shake! Easy-breezy, so far.
Ok, enough for now. I will probably vent some later if my attitude gets bad. Lol!!!

And It Starts!

Well, technically, this journey started back in July, 2011.
I started seeing a weight loss physician who was recommended to me by several friends who had all gone to him and were VERY successful in their weight loss.
So, I had my initial visit with his PA, was told that I was qualified to have the surgery to lose weight. He told me that I needed to stop taking the birth control pills I had just started taking to regulate/stop my cycle and possibly stop the migraines I was having. He said that I had to be off them for 3 months before surgery would even be considered, due to the possibility of blood clots. So, I stopped them THAT day.
Next visit was when we had the "weight loss class" and signed up for the psychologist evaluation and nutrition classes. Saw the psychologist twice and he told me that his evaluation of me was that I was more than capable of sticking to the diet requirements needed to be successful in weightloss surgery and that he would send my doctor the notes on this.
The nutrition classes are next. In the first one, we learned how to regulate the fat and sugars we put into our bodies, reading labels is very important. Less than 5g fat and 10g sugar per serving. At the second nutrition class, we weighed in before the class, and I was down 12 pounds!! Yay me!!!!! We were given our 2 week pre op diet plan to shrink our liver and make room for the surgeons tools. We were also told of the lifestyle change we would experience after the surgery.
I had my surgeon meeting in December. We discussed the options for weightloss surgery. I told him that I wanted to have the RNY procedure and after consulting with all the notes in my chart, he told me that I had made a good choice and that the RNY should really work for me.
My surgery was scheduled for January 9, 2012. Pre-op visit is on January 5th.
I'm EXCITED!!!
